For centuries, humanity has grappled with the fundamental question of the origin of existence. From ancient myths and religious traditions to classical philosophy and modern theoretical physics, human inquiry has proposed countless frameworks to explain cosmological genesis—ranging from instantaneous creation to the Big Bang. Yet, recent breakthroughs in quantum mechanics, alongside the unresolved paradoxes of modern cosmology, open a compelling new horizon: perhaps existence emerged not ex nihilo through a singularity or instantaneous miracle, but—much like evolutionary life itself—step-by-step, through systemic trial and error.
The Architecture of Existence: D-TOC seeks, relying strictly on empirically verified scientific principles, to propose an ontological framework for this genesis: demonstrating how a structured universe and consciousness emerge from the two fundamental dynamics inherent within the active vacuum—tension and fluctuation.

Abstract
This paper proposes an ontological framework, D-TOC, addressing where consciousness arises from and its relation to awareness, qualia, irritability, and action. It presents no new empirical findings, instead rearranging validated results from different fields into one architecture. Three foundational unknowns of contemporary physics — the vacuum’s capacity, dark matter, and mathematics’ rule over the universe — are reinterpreted as pointing to a shared pre-phenotypic layer. D-TOC formulates this layer through the D-Token, a unit with two capacities, attraction and oscillation, whose interaction produces pattern, stability, threshold, and phenotype. Consciousness is situated at the level of the pattern itself, distinct from its phenotypes.
